The Knights of the Empire Germanica

The Knights of the Empire Germanica are activelely seeking new members. We need dedicated and enthusiastic people who don't mind getting their hands a little dirty whilst at the same time having a lot of fun. We don't mind what your heritage or background is as long as you are willing to respect those around you and keep in mind that we are are all in this for the enjoyment of it, then you are welcome at KEG.

We are looking fro artists, Musicians Squires, Heralds, Ladies in Waiting, Crafts people and many more. It all adds to the colour and spectacle we aim to create as a re-enactment group. We understand that peoples lives are theirs to live, but we would love for you to share a little of yours with with us.

 Do I need to know much about history?

No... re-enactment is how you learn about history. We enjoy the research and construction of our equipment. We also love learning how it was best used and why it made the way it was. Learning is doing as they say... and we have a great time doing it!

Is it really expensive?

 As with all hobbies there are costs. But these can be as little as your membership and insurance fee, first set of clothing or as much as you would like to spend on extra equipment such as pavillion and armour. Over all we are affordable and realise that money doesn't grow on trees!

Will I be a Knight straight away?

As with all things you need to be prepared for the responsibility and obligation a position demands. Over time you train in swordsmanship, accumulate armour and equipment and demonstrate to others that you are chivalrous and demonstrate integrity. It's an acheivable goal you set for your self. And one the Knights of the Empire Germanica wiull assist you to acheive.

Is it just about fighting?

No, The Knights of the Empire Germanica also encourage it's members to get involved in the Music (through our musical ensemble "Germanica") and traditional arts and crafts. we are looking for creative people that like to learn about medieval crafts, language, poetry and song.

How do I get involved?

Contact us and find out about our weekly training sessions. These sessions are where we train our combatants, practice our music,make our clothes and have a good chat!
